This Privacy Policy explains how BirdieLab ("we", "us", or "the app") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the BirdieLab mobile application. By using the app, you agree to the practices described here.
Information We Collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name through our authentication provider, Supabase. Authentication is handled securely; we do not store your password.
- Golf data you create. Rounds, hole-by-hole scores, putts, fairways, greens in regulation, and your calculated handicap index are stored so you can review your history and statistics.
- Location. With your permission, we use your device location to find golf courses near you. Location is used only while you are using the relevant feature and is not stored as a location history.
- Course reviews. If you submit a course review, the rating and comments you provide are stored and associated with your account.
How We Use Your Information
- To provide core features such as scoring, statistics, and handicap calculation.
- To show you nearby courses based on your location.
- To display reviews you and other golfers have submitted.
- To maintain the security and integrity of your account.
Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. Your data is stored with our infrastructure provider (Supabase) solely to operate the app. Course reviews you submit are visible to other users of the app. We may disclose information if required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your account and golf data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at [email protected].
Security
We take reasonable measures to protect your information. Authentication tokens are stored securely on your device, and all communication with our servers is encrypted in transit.
Children's Privacy
BirdieLab is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above.
